Job Purpose
The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a dynamic individual to render a registry services.
Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).
Recommendation
A valid code B (or higher) driving license. Note: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities but have reasonable access to transport may also apply.
Key Performance Areas
Provide registry counter services: Attend to clients; Handle telephonic and other enquiries received; Receive and register hand delivered mail/files; Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence: Receive all mail; Sort, register and dispatch mail; Distribute notices on registry issues; Render an effective filing and record management service; Opening and close files according to record classification system; Filing/storage, tracing (electronically/manually) and retrieval of documents and files; Complete index cards for all files; Operate office machines in relation to the registry function; Open and maintain franking machine register; Process documents for archiving and/ disposal: Electronic scanning of files; Sort and package files for archives and distribution.
Competencies
A good understanding of the following: Registry duties, practices as well as the ability to capture data, and operate computer; Legislative framework governing the Public Service; Storage and retrieval procedures in terms of the working environment; Work in registry; Skills needed: Proven computer literacy; Written and verbal communication; Planing and organising; Problem-solving.
Remuneration
R 216 417 per annum (Salary Level 5)

Notes
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
