TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognised non-profit organisation. We provide health care services throughout South Africa to both the general population and communities at increased risk for HIV and TB, including adolescent girls and young women, sex workers and people who use drugs. Purpose of the position:

The Internal Communications Intern will report to the Internal Communications Specialist and support the Communications Unit by facilitating internal communications and employee engagement. This position is integral to fostering a positive organisational culture and maintaining effective communication channels within TB HIV Care.

Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Recently completed diploma in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Communications, marketing, or public relations training would be advantageous
  • No prior work experience is required; however, any relevant internships or volunteer experiences would be beneficial
  • Familiarity/proficiency with MS Office, digital media platforms and social media marketing
  • Demonstrated interest in communications or related activities through coursework or extracurricular activities
  • Willingness to occasionally travel for work-related tasks
  • Clear criminal record
  • Proficiency in English & any other South African language
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with the Communications Administrator to research content for TB HIV Cares social media channels.
  • Write and contribute social media posts for our weekly social media calendar
  • Support the research and assist in the implementation of internal campaigns and initiatives
  • Work closely with the Internal Communications Specialist and various site contacts to populate a social events calendar
  • Assist in generating innovative ideas to promote the organisational values
  • Support the demand creation team with uploading and logging event photos on SharePoint
