Data Architect

Are you a skilled Data Architect looking for an exciting opportunity to shape data architecture and drive data-driven decision-making?

We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Architect to join a team in Johannesburg North. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to shape Data Architecture and requirements, craft Data Models tailored to meet business objectives, and assess and choose appropriate Data Storage Solutions. You will also play a key role in implementing data governance policies and standards, ensuring data quality and integrity, and adhering to data security and privacy regulations. Additionally, you will share data architecture strategies with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner and contribute to strategic planning and technology selection for data and analytics initiatives.

You need to have a related degree and 10 years of extensive experience in data migration, integration, and ETL processes; Familiarity with modern data platforms and technologies; Proficiency in SQL and MS Studio; Experience with both SQL and NoSQL data storage; Familiarity with data processing frameworks like Snowflake, Databricks, or Apache Spark; Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure); Strong understanding and experience of API integrations.

Salary: R750 000 – R1m Per Annum

Responsibilities:

• Collaborative Data Architecture:

o Work closely with business stakeholders to define data architecture and requirements.

• Data Modelling and Schemas:

o Design data models and schemas tailored to meet business objectives.

• Data Storage Solutions:

o Assess and choose appropriate data storage solutions, including relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and MS SQL databases.

• Data Governance:

o Lead the implementation of data governance policies and standards.

• Data Quality and Integrity:

o Ensure data quality and integrity across the organization.

• Data Security and Compliance:

o Ensure adherence to data security and privacy regulations.

• Communication and Strategy:

o Share data architecture strategies with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner.

• Strategic Planning and Technology Selection:

o Contribute to strategic planning and technology selection for data and analytics initiatives.

Requirements:

• Education:

o Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Management, or equivalent certification.

• Experience:

o 10 years of extensive experience in data migration, integration, and ETL processes.

• Technical Skills:

o Familiarity with modern data platforms and technologies.

o Proficiency in SQL and MS Studio.
